China will add Australia to its list of unilateral visa-free countries, Premier Li Qiang announced on Monday during his official visit to Australia.

The announcement was made at a joint news conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra, as reported by China Daily.

The leaders discussed the importance of increasing people-to-people exchanges to deepen the bilateral relationship. They emphasized the role these exchanges play in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations.

Li and Albanese also welcomed new arrangements to facilitate travel between China and Australia.

These include reciprocal access to multi-entry visas valid for up to three to five years for purposes such as business, tourism, and visiting family members.
