Donald Trump is known for his bold statements, but one recent remark about his son Barron has caught particular attention.
In a interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, the former president expressed deep admiration for his 19-year-old son’s tech abilities—specifically, his capacity to turn on a computer.
“He’s looking at a computer… I turn off his laptop, walk away for five minutes, and then he’s back on. I ask, ‘How do you do that?’ and he says, ‘None of your business, Dad,’” Trump said with a laugh.
“He’s incredibly good with technology.”
While it may not be Silicon Valley-level genius, the comment speaks volumes about Trump’s own aversion to modern tech.
According to multiple reports, the former president still avoids computers and email entirely, often dictating posts for others to upload on his behalf.
Barron Turns 19 and Steps Into the Spotlight—Sort Of
Barron Trump quietly celebrated his 19th birthday on March 20, with minimal media attention.
After enrolling last year at New York University’s Stern School of Business, Barron now splits his time between campus and Trump Tower, the same skyscraper where he spent much of his childhood.
While his father tends to keep his private life under wraps, it's been revealed that Barron played an informal but key role in last year’s Republican campaign efforts—especially in helping his father understand digital trends and youth culture.
As Newsner noted, Trump needed every edge to stay relevant among younger voters.
And who better to assist than a digital-native son who’s grown up with social media, and gaming?
A Low-Key College Life
Although his NYU classes are just minutes away from home, Barron still travels with Secret Service protection and is often driven in a black SUV.
Despite the glitz of his upbringing, reports suggest Barron is working to find a more grounded social life.
According to TMZ, the youngest Trump has turned to online gaming as a way to connect with peers. He’s reportedly active on Discord, the popular gaming and chat platform, and enjoys playing EA Sports FC 25—a nod to his well-known love for football (soccer).
Sources close to the family describe him as well-liked and charming at NYU, even if his high-profile name has sometimes made it harder to blend in with fellow students.
