Belarusian prankster Vladislav Bokhan recently tricked teachers in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast into making “patriotic” tin foil hats.

Send Specific Instructions

Posing as an official from Russia’s United Russia party, Bokhan sent an “order” to local schools asking teachers to hold a “Helmet of the Fatherland” workshop, according to Pravda.

The message included specific instructions for making tin foil hats as part of what was described as a patriotic campaign.

Seven schools in the Voronezh region participated, with teachers creating and posing with their tin foil hats.

Praised Their Patriotism

Photos shared online show teachers proudly holding and even wearing these “patriotic” hats.

Despite the prank, the regional branch of Russia’s Education Ministry later praised the teachers, saying they displayed “patriotic spirit, strong dedication, and a creative approach to any task,” even if they were part of what they called “an inappropriate joke.”

Bokhan has pulled similar pranks in the past.

In 2022, he convinced a school in Klin to hold a subbotnik, or community clean-up day, where staff posed with a banner that read “One people, one nation, one ruler.”

This slogan mimicked the Nazi phrase “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer” but was altered to use the Roman letter “V”—a symbol widely used in Russian propaganda and military equipment linked to the Ukraine war.

By replacing the Cyrillic “В” with the Roman “V,” Bokhan added another layer of satire to his prank.
