Winning the lottery is a dream for many. It promises a life free of financial stress, filled with opportunities for joy and fulfillment.

For Antonio Lopes, a 73-year-old Brazilian cattle farmer, this dream became a reality, writes Digi24.

On November 9, he discovered he had won 200 million Brazilian reais, about 32 million euros.

This was one of the ten largest lottery jackpots in Brazil's history.

Lopes, a father of four, planned to use his newfound wealth to improve his quality of life.

One of his first decisions as a millionaire was to schedule dental surgery to replace his teeth.

A month later, on December 4, he visited a dentist’s office for the procedure. Sadly, what was meant to be a routine operation ended in tragedy.

Lopes died on the operating table, likely from a heart attack.

The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation. Edison Pick, the head of the civil police, stated that it is unclear if the heart attack was related to the surgery.

He explained that the clinic would not be held accountable if the incident was independent of the operation.

The authorities are waiting for the autopsy and a detailed report to provide more clarity on the cause of death.

This sudden and unexpected event has shocked many. Lopes’ story is a stark reminder of life’s unpredictability.

His joyous win turned into heartbreak for his family and community. The investigation continues as they seek answers to what truly happened during the operation.
