asyJet, the British low-cost airline, has announced the suspension of all its flights to Israel for the next six months, citing the ongoing unpredictability of the security situation in the region.
This development was reported by the Jerusalem Post.
A Response to Continued Tensions
The decision by EasyJet follows a brief resumption of flights at the end of March, which was quickly curtailed by the airline following the latest escalation in regional tensions.
Initially, EasyJet had only planned to halt flights for a week, but the prolonged instability has forced a more extended suspension.
"Due to the constant unpredictability of the security situation, we have decided to suspend flights to Tel Aviv until October 27, 2024," stated the company in a communiqué.
This move comes in the wake of significant military activities in the area, including a large-scale air attack by Tehran and pro-Iranian forces on the night of April 14.
The incident has led to heightened international concern, with Western leaders advising against any retaliatory actions by Israel that could lead to further escalation.
