A bus transporting Russian and Belarusian tourists was involved in an accident near the resort of Manavgat in Antalya, Turkey.
Many of the passengers, as well as the driver, sustained injuries, according to the IHA agency and the Russian news outlet Interfax.
Details of the Accident
The tourists had just completed their vacation in the Alanya resort and were on their way to the airport when the accident occurred early Wednesday morning.
The bus reportedly crashed into a concrete pillar at the entrance to a bridge interchange. The impact caused the bus to veer off the road and onto a country path, resulting in significant damage.
"Many tourists and the driver were injured in the crash," the statement said.
Numerous ambulances were dispatched to the scene. First aid was administered on-site before the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
The police have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
