A car bomb explosion in southern Moscow on Tuesday injured a well-known bar owner and two others, according to local authorities and media reports.

Viktor Mishachev, the CEO and co-founder of the Shaker Group, was hospitalized following the blast, as reported by the state-run news agency TASS, which cited an unnamed law enforcement source.

Mishachev’s 16-year-old son and another adult were also injured in the explosion.

According to RIA Novosti, another law enforcement official indicated that one of the victims lost a hand in the explosion. Initial reports suggested the bomb went off as someone attempted to remove a suspicious object from the hood of the vehicle.

Images circulating on social media showed Mishachev’s SUV, which appeared largely intact aside from a small hole in the hood near the windshield.

Authorities believe the attack may have stemmed from a personal or business-related conflict. Moscow's Investigative Committee, which handles serious crimes, has opened a criminal investigation into the attempted murder.

Mishachev is a co-owner of the popular Coyote Ugly bar in Moscow, as well as establishments in St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. Corporate records also list his Shaker Group as the owner of Moscow's Dirty Dance Bar.
