Despite being in critical condition due to pneumonia in both lungs, the 88-year-old pontiff has managed to oversee key Vatican business. On February 25, he met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, and signed multiple decrees related to sainthood causes.
The Vatican press office reported that the pope had a restful night and was continuing to receive treatment.
But global concerns over his health remain high, with medical staff closely monitoring his condition.
