The heavy rains have led to landslides and made many roads impassable.
Extent of Damage
The torrential rain has destroyed cropland and caused houses to collapse, leaving many people in need of help.
Chinese state television reported on Monday that the province of Guangxi is facing challenges due to the weather conditions.
Flood warnings have been issued across several provinces.
State television footage depicted the severity of the situation, showing mudslides, submerged vehicles, and collapsed infrastructure.
In neighboring Guangdong province, mudflows engulfed a town, with social media videos capturing cars being swept away and roofs giving way under the deluge.
Evacuations
In Guangdong's Meizhou region alone, nearly 138,000 households lost power due to flooding.
Emergency measures have been implemented as several rivers reached critical water levels. Authorities evacuated 11,100 residents from high-risk areas near dykes, while schools and kindergartens in Meizhou were closed as a precautionary measure.
In Guangxi, residents were relocated to emergency shelters. Footage showed rescue workers using rubber dinghies to navigate flooded streets and assist elderly residents to safety.
Over 11,000 individuals in the region required life-saving aid.
Continued Heavy Rainfall
The Chinese Meteorological Administration issued warnings for heavy rain expected on Monday in the southeastern province of Fujian.
Authorities reported that around 36,000 people were evacuated due to the ongoing flooding.
The persistent rain has caused widespread damage across many parts of Fujian.
