In Norway, investigators dedicated to explaining phenomena such as UFOs demonstrate remarkable persistence. Seventy-seven years after a report of a flying object over a lake, they are now employing extensive resources to unravel the mystery.
According to Rtbf.be, in 1947, the mayor of the village of Roros witnessed the descent of a strange object near his location. This story has been passed down ever since. "It looked like a rocket and made a lot of noise. It turned 180 degrees and landed in the lake behind us," recounts Rue Røstad, a photographer.
Until recently, searches have been fruitless, but this photographer decided to utilize more significant means. "We found an object right below this hole. It measures fourteen meters long and three meters wide."
The initial sonar images seem promising, indicating that an object is indeed there.
One of Norway's Largest UFO Search Operations
The search campaign has delighted UFO enthusiasts, who have also been visiting the investigators. "It's really exciting. This is one of the largest UFO search operations in the history of Norway," exclaims Arnulf Løken, a member of the Norwegian UFO center.
A film crew is covering the event. A documentary detailing the entire adventure is in the works.
Divers are manually probing the bottom, but so far without success. The investigators are left to speculate. "I think it's something known, not something unknown from space. Something terrestrial, but who knows…" predicts Arnulf Løken.
So, is the unidentified flying object of extraterrestrial origin or not? We will only know once it has been retrieved to the surface—a matter of days or weeks.
