As the Paris 2024 Olympics unfold, Olympic diver Jack Laugher is making headlines for his unconventional approach to funding his Olympic journey.
"I Have Something People Want"
Despite earning a solid annual salary of approximately £28,000 (over $33,000), Laugher has turned to OnlyFans to cover additional costs associated with his Olympic preparations, according to L'Independent.
Laugher explained that while his salary is adequate, it falls short of the financial demands required for elite-level competition. To bridge the gap, he launched an OnlyFans account in 2021, where he shares exclusive photos of himself in swimwear.
Laugher candidly stated, "I have something people want, and I’m happy to try and sell it," adding that the platform has been a valuable source of extra income.
Although OnlyFans is often associated with adult content, Laugher’s page does not feature nudity. Subscribers pay €12 per month for access to his exclusive content, including photos and videos. Laugher revealed that a video of him in underwear while showering has been particularly lucrative, earning him €402.
Not the Only One
With the ongoing Olympics, Laugher has reduced his activity on OnlyFans to focus on his performances.
"As the competition intensifies, I will be less active and have scaled back my physical activity before the Games," he mentioned, promising to resume his content creation after the event.
Laugher isn’t the only athlete leveraging OnlyFans for financial support; diver Noah Williams has also joined the platform to help fund his Olympic aspirations.
A spokesperson for OnlyFans has expressed pride in supporting athletes using the platform to achieve their goals, underscoring its role in assisting both professional and amateur sports enthusiasts.
