Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister, Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, has issued a stern warning to Russia, stating that any repetition of airspace violations will provoke a more severe response from Warsaw. This declaration came after a meeting with Andrey Ordash, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, Bartoszewski underscored Poland's readiness to respond decisively to any further provocations. He stressed the capability and preparedness of the Polish military, warning that any Russian missile entering Polish airspace in the future would be intercepted and destroyed.
The statement follows an incident where a Russian missile violated Polish airspace, flying 40 kilometers into the country before returning to Ukraine.
Although it was later shot down by Ukrainian air defense, the event has significantly escalated tensions in the region. This incident coincided with a massive Russian missile attack on various Ukrainian cities, resulting in casualties and widespread destruction.
Poland's military and political leadership have expressed their commitment to enhancing national security in 2024, reinforcing their defense systems and response capabilities.
The Polish Foreign Ministry has also demanded a formal explanation from Russia regarding the missile incident, indicating a firm stance against any future threats to their sovereignty.
