In a large-scale operation, the German police in Krefeld seized 6.5 kilograms of amphetamine and arrested several suspects involved in large-scale drug trafficking.

In a coordinated effort, the Herkules investigation team of the Krefeld criminal police successfully arrested three men suspected of trading amphetamine on a large scale. The police seized a total of 6.5 kilograms of the drug during the operation.

The Investigation

The investigation began when a suspicious package was discovered in a parcel shop in Krefeld, located in western Germany near Düsseldorf.

The shop owner became suspicious when a package was addressed directly to the shop, which was unusual and had been noticed before. The alleged sender, who was also the person collecting the parcel, had tried to disguise the shipment using a false address.

On July 16, another suspicious package arrived at the shop.

When the suspect came to pick it up, the owner threatened to call the police. The man fled, but the police were able to confiscate the package, which contained around one kilogram of amphetamine. This lead enabled investigators to identify additional suspects and locate two depots in Datteln and Moers.

Chief Inspector Uwe van Rieth, leading the investigation, explained, "Thanks to the cooperation with the Recklinghausen police, we were able to seize another 5.5 kilograms of amphetamine and half a liter of amphetamine oil in the depots."

In addition to the amphetamine, 240 grams of crystal meth and around 830 pills, the contents of which are still being analyzed, were also found.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

Among those arrested is a man with no fixed abode, suspected of being part of the drug network. A 39-year-old suspect was released after her arrest but still faces criminal proceedings. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around 50,000 euros.

The Krefeld police consider this a significant success in the fight against drug trafficking. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further members and connections within the network.
