The Belgian police halted a Flixbus, suspecting that some passengers might have been planning a terror attack in Brussels.
According to German media Focus, police units reportedly surrounded the bus initially.
The bus, initially traveling from Lille in France to Brussels, was stopped this morning near the Belgian city of Wetteren.
According to police reports, a person overheard other passengers discussing a planned attack and subsequently called emergency services. Media reports indicate that three men were arrested.
The police have not released further information about the detainees at this time.
Other passengers were also reportedly taken off the bus individually and searched, and their luggage was inspected.
There are no reports indicating whether the planned attack was intended for the bus or if the arrested individuals were discussing an attack in another location. It is also unknown in which country the potential attack was to occur.
