Victoria Komova, a two-time silver medalist in gymnastics at the 2012 Olympics, recently expressed her strong disapproval of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony.

It Was a Failure

According to Lenta Komova took to Instagram (a platform banned in Russia, owned by Meta, an organization designated as extremist in Russia) to voice her dissatisfaction.

In her post, Komova described the event as a "disaster," using harsh language to convey her displeasure, particularly with the inclusion of a nearly naked blue-painted man in the ceremony.

She remarked, "What a horror! This is a failure. They hit rock bottom. It makes me want to vomit," reflecting her shock and disappointment.

Different Oppinions

Komova contrasted the Paris ceremony with the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, sharing a photo of the Sochi mascots and proclaiming, "Russia is the best country! Russia, I love you!"

Her comments suggest a preference for the more traditional and conservative presentations she associates with Russian events.

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, held on July 26 along the Seine River, sparked a variety of reactions worldwide.

Greek media labeled the event as a "collapse of civilization," pointing specifically to a segment where performers depicted the Last Supper with drag artists. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also criticized the ceremony, echoing Komova's sentiments.

In contrast, American billionaire Elon Musk shared similar criticisms, while others, like USSR Honored Coach Tatiana Tarasova, praised the ceremony for its uniqueness and artistic expression.
