Student Trip with 200 Participants Turns Violent in Mallorca, One Teen Stabbed

Mallorca Mayhem: Over 200 Teens Clash at Holiday Resort

Mallorca is one of Europe’s most popular spots for student travel, especially during school breaks.

Its sunny beaches and party-friendly resorts attract young people from across the continent.

But this week, what was supposed to be a fun and educational trip turned into a night of chaos.

Over 200 teenagers were involved in a violent fight in the early hours of Wednesday in Alcudia, a resort town on the Spanish island of Mallorca, reports Digi24.

Local police said the altercation happened both inside a hotel and out on the street.

The hotel was packed with more than 2,700 students, most of them from mainland Spain and Portugal. They were in Mallorca for school-organized trips.

The cause of the fight is still unknown. Authorities are still gathering information.

Witnesses described the scene as hectic and frightening. Students used chairs, bottles, and other objects as weapons.

Police officers had already been called to the hotel several times earlier in the week to calm down disturbances. But this time, the situation got out of control.

Reinforcements were called in, but even then, officers struggled to break up the fights.

“It was total chaos,” one officer told the local newspaper Diario de Mallorca.

Several students were injured and needed medical attention. One teenager was taken to the hospital with a stab wound.

His condition is not life-threatening, according to police. Other students were treated for bruises and minor injuries.

The local authorities are now investigating the incident. They are also reviewing whether the hotel had enough staff and security to manage such a large group of young guests.

No arrests have been officially confirmed, but the police are continuing to question witnesses and review video footage.

Mallorca has seen a sharp increase in tourist numbers, especially during the Easter holidays.

The crowds this season have been close to summer levels. Local officials are warning that if safety measures aren’t improved, more problems like this could happen again.

What was supposed to be a peaceful school trip ended in a night many will remember for the wrong reasons.
