In a significant anti-terrorism operation on Thursday morning, Danish authorities arrested three individuals suspected of planning a terror attack. The operation, involving five police districts, was a coordinated effort to dismantle a network believed to be orchestrating a potential terror act.
As witnessed by dagens.com, the arrests were announced at a press conference on Friday afternoon by the Danish police and the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET).
The suspects are expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing later on Friday.
Flemming Drejer, the operational chief of PET, speaking at the press conference, described the operation as a proactive measure against a network of individuals actively planning a terrorist act. He emphasized the operation as a crucial security measure, underscoring the importance of early intervention in such cases.
The police have been limited in their statements regarding the incident, but they did reveal that an individual has also been arrested in the Netherlands, who is connected to this case.
Furthermore, the police made a significant effort to assure Danish citizens that there is no cause for concern.
