An exclusive gala dinner with U.S. President Donald Trump is being offered as a reward to those who invest heavily in his personal cryptocurrency.

The high-profile campaign, announced Wednesday, has already sparked fierce criticism and renewed debate over political ethics in the digital finance space, HuffPost reports.

The event, scheduled for May 22 at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., is reserved for the 220 largest holders of the $TRUMP memecoin — a cryptocurrency inspired by Trump himself.

Invitations will go to those who hold the most tokens between April 24 and May 12. The top 25 investors will gain access to a special VIP reception with Trump and a guided tour of the golf club.

Marketed as “the world’s most exclusive dinner,” the campaign promises “intimate conversations” with the president about the future of cryptocurrency, promoted with aggressive slogans like “Don’t miss out” and “Be part of history.”

However, Trump’s financial involvement in a personal crypto project — and the direct access it offers based on investment — has raised concerns in political circles. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut called it “the most blatant corruption a president has ever committed.”

Memecoins like $TRUMP are typically built on branding and hype rather than real utility. This campaign is seen by many as a move to monetize Trump’s influence and cult status among his most devoted supporters.

Trump has previously expressed mixed views on cryptocurrency, but this initiative marks a deeper entanglement — one where financial backing and loyalty are rewarded with exclusive access to power.

Critics warn that the campaign risks blurring the lines between personal profit and public office. For some investors, it may be a unique opportunity. But for democracy, it raises troubling questions about who’s really paying for a seat at the president’s table.
