President Joe Biden recently emphasized the achievements of his administration, cautioning that a second term for Donald Trump would plunge the country back into "chaos, division, and darkness."
According to a statement Biden made on Tuesday, which CNN reported, he sees Trump's potential return as a significant setback for the country.
In his own words, Biden said, "Four years ago, I ran because of the existential threat that Donald Trump posed to the America we all believe in. (Trump) is driven by resentment and villainy, he is focused on his own revenge and retribution, not on the American people."
Biden took the opportunity to outline his administration's successes, including job creation, tackling inflation, lowering prescription drug costs, and advancing gun control measures. He stressed that these accomplishments could be endangered if Trump were to reoccupy the presidency.
The backdrop to Biden's remarks is the recent Super Tuesday primaries, where both he and Trump emerged as the winners for their respective political parties.
