Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is always ready for dialogue about Ukraine, but it must be effective and not just mere talk.

Dmitry Peskov noted that although Russia's interests are not yet a focus at this time, "views can change over time," as reported by Russia's TASS news agency on November 13 according to Tuoitre.vn.

Commenting on the recent statement by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz - who said he is ready to organize dialogues with President Putin in the future, Mr. Peskov remarked:

"The President never excludes contacts. He always reminds himself to be ready to conduct various negotiations, especially at the summit level. However, the President always prefers result-oriented communication, not just idle chatter.”

Earlier, Chancellor Scholz stated his intention to continue dialogue with the Russian leader, which he considers truly necessary.

In an interview with Heilbronner Stimme, Mr. Scholz said: “In this situation, it is very necessary to continue talking with him (President Putin - reporter). I have done so in the past and will do so again in the future.”

"But for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, a decisive step from Russia is needed - which means troop withdrawal. Clearly, this is something that Mr. Vladimir Putin is still not ready for," the German leader emphasized.
