Russia Loses 700+ Warplanes to Ukraine’s Defenses

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine’s Air Force has taken down more than 26,500 aerial threats.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine’s Air Force has reported the destruction of more than 26,500 aerial threats, including over 700 Russian aircraft.

According to a Facebook post published by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this total comprises 370 fixed-wing aircraft and 331 helicopters.

Ukraine’s Aerial Defense Achievements Since February 24, 2022:

  • 370 aircraft

  • 331 helicopters

  • 550 Kalibr cruise missiles

  • 95 Iskander-K cruise missiles

  • 1,801 Kh-101, Kh-55SM, and Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles

  • 460 guided air-launched missiles (including Kh-59 and Kh-69)

  • 40 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles

  • 95 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and their North Korean variants (KN-23)

  • 14,286 Shahed-type attack drones

  • 6,900 reconnaissance drones

  • 25 missiles of other types

In addition, Ukraine’s tactical aviation has conducted over 20,000 sorties, including approximately 10,000 strike missions against Russian forces and more than 12,000 fighter cover operations over the past three years.

Russia’s Largest Drone and Missile Attack to Date

Recently, Russia carried out its largest drone and missile assault since the invasion began, launching 267 strike drones and three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.

The attack targeted multiple regions, including Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa, causing casualties and extensive damage to civilian infrastructure.

Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 138 Shahed-type drones, while 119 decoy UAVs were neutralized through electronic warfare measures.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged international partners to provide increased air defense support, citing a dramatic escalation in Russian aerial attacks, with nearly 1,150 drones and over 1,400 guided bombs launched in the past week alone.
