On April 18, Russian forces launched attacks in six different directions along the Ukrainian front line, engaging in a total of 82 combat clashes throughout the day. This information was provided in a recent summary released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Battles Across Multiple Fronts

The areas hardest hit include Bakhmutskyi, Avdiivskyi, and Novopavlivskyi, where Ukrainian defenders faced the brunt of the offensive efforts. Despite the intensity of the assaults, there were no significant changes reported on the Volyn and Poliske fronts, indicating a stalemate in these regions.

Along the Siver and Slobozhan directions, Russian troops maintained a strong military presence, engaging in sabotage activities aimed at hindering Ukrainian troop movements and fortifying the border areas with mines and explosive barriers.

There were no offensive actions reported in the Kupyansk direction, suggesting a possible strategic shift or reallocation of Russian forces to more contested areas.

Localized Conflicts

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions four times within the Donetsk region's Torsky and Yampolivka districts, but met with stiff resistance. The fiercest battles occurred in the direction of Bakhmut, where Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 25 attacks across several settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Similar patterns of intense combat were seen in the Avdiyiv direction, with 16 Russian attacks repelled, and on the Novopavlivskyi front, where Ukrainian forces held their ground against 20 separate attempts to breach their defenses.

In the southern stretches of the Kherson direction, Russian attempts to dislodge Ukrainian forces from strategic bridgeheads on the Dnieper River's left bank resulted in 11 unsuccessful attacks. This area remains a critical point of contention as both sides incur losses.

Ukrainian Counter-Offensive Measures

Despite the ongoing assaults, Ukrainian forces continued to inflict significant losses on Russian personnel and equipment. Ukrainian aviation targeted nine areas with concentrated enemy troops, while their air defense units destroyed two Russian Kh-59 guided air missiles.

Additional strikes by Ukrainian missile forces resulted in the destruction of a Russian control point, two artillery units, an electronic warfare station, a personnel concentration area, and an ammunition depot.
