In a candid conversation with The Washington Post, Ukrainian President Vololymyr Zelensky laid bare the critical situation facing his country in the ongoing conflict with Russia.
Zelensky's message was clear: without continued American support, Ukraine faces the grim prospect of a gradual but inevitable retreat.
A Dire Need for American Support
Zelensky underscored the indispensable role of US aid, stressing that the absence of such support would mean a lack of essential military assets, including air defense systems, Patriot missiles, electronic warfare jammers, and 155 mm artillery shells.
"It means we have to go back, retreat, step by step, little by little," Zelensky stated, highlighting the precarious balance Ukraine is forced to maintain.

"Nobody can tell us that we cannot do this," Zelensky remarked, defending Ukraine's right to respond to the assaults on its sovereignty and its people.
