Russian forces launched a massive overnight assault across Ukraine.

Russian strikes across Ukraine claimed the lives of at least five civilians and injured 25 others in the past day, Ukrainian regional authorities reported on November 28.

The overnight assault was described as a massive combined attack, targeting multiple regions, including the capital, Kyiv.

Details of the Attack

According to the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram, Russian forces deployed an array of weaponry in the Nov. 27-28 attack, including:

  • 3 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles

  • 57 Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS bombers

  • 28 Kalibr cruise missiles

  • 3 Kh-59/69 guided missiles

  • 97 drones

Ukrainian defense forces intercepted a significant portion of the attack, shooting down 76 Kh-101 and Kalibr missiles, 3 Kh-59/69 missiles, and 35 drones. However, 35 drones were lost on radars due to electronic warfare.

Casualties and Damage

The attacks caused casualties and destruction in several oblasts:

  • Odesa Oblast: A 16-year-old boy and a 90-year-old woman were injured when falling missile debris damaged six houses, according to Governor Oleh Kiper.

  • Vinnytsia Oblast: A woman sustained injuries, and residential buildings were damaged in a morning strike.

  • Kherson Oblast: Russian shelling hit 10 settlements, killing one person and injuring 14 others.

  • Kharkiv Oblast: A Russian FPV drone struck a tractor in the village of Bilyi Kolodiaz, killing two men and injuring three others, Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported.

  • Donetsk Oblast: Two people were killed in Kostiantynivka, while another person was injured in Pokrovsk.

  • Zaporizhzhia Oblast: Three individuals, including a woman, were injured in attacks on the Vasyliv district.

  • Sumy Oblast: A drone attack in the Khotyn community injured one civilian.

According to the Kyiv Independent, critical infrastructure facilities were struck, prompting emergency power outages across Ukraine.

Authorities are working to restore electricity while assessing the full scale of the damage.
