Ukraine Inflicts Heavy Losses: 1,530 Russian Soldiers Killed in 24 Hours

The Russian military continues to suffer heavy losses in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces report that Russian losses in Ukraine continue to mount, with 1,530 soldiers killed in the past day.

This brings the total number of Russian casualties since the invasion began in February 2022 to approximately 675,800.

These figures were shared by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on October 18, 2024, via Facebook.

In addition to the human toll, Ukrainian forces have inflicted considerable damage on Russian military equipment. Over the course of the war, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have destroyed 9,027 tanks, 18,053 armored combat vehicles, and 19,533 artillery systems, among other assets.

Most recently, Ukrainian paratroopers successfully repelled a large-scale Russian assault in the Kurakhove sector, taking out 33 units of armored vehicles.
