They quickly adapted and used a drone to distract the enemy, enabling them to get close without being detected.
In this operation, Ukrainian forces captured 12 Russian soldiers and eliminated 17 others. The Russian troops, caught off guard, were unable to respond effectively.
The Ukrainian commander explained that their smaller team managed to overpower the larger Russian force due to precise planning and quick action.
He mentioned, "We were willing to face superior enemy numbers. Everything was carried out quickly and efficiently, and the Russian troops did not have time to retaliate."
In a video shared by the Ukrainian forces, Russian soldiers can be seen emerging from a bunker, trying to escape the drones, only to be captured at gunpoint.
The scene was tense, with grenades and small arms being used. One of the operators described how they got within 100 meters of the enemy, who were too focused on hiding to defend themselves.
This operation is part of a broader series of attacks by Ukrainian forces in Kursk, which marks the first time since World War II that foreign forces have entered Russian territory.
Ukrainian units carried out sabotage missions, evacuated wounded soldiers, and attacked Russian command posts, further undermining the enemy’s position.
