Ukraine has shifted its military strategy, opting to reinforce battle-tested brigades rather than creating new ones from scratch. Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced the decision on February 11, following a resolution by the State Council.
This was reported by United24 Media.
Previously, Ukraine focused on establishing new brigades, but limited resources have led to a more sustainable approach.
Under the new strategy, fresh recruits will be integrated into existing units, where they will benefit from experienced commanders, cohesive teams, and clearly defined responsibilities.
The decision is designed to increase combat effectiveness by ensuring that new soldiers are placed in well-structured environments, rather than in newly formed units with untested leadership and coordination.
This shift in military strategy aligns with Ukraine’s broader modernization efforts.
On February 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the “Drone Line” initiative, an effort to expand and standardize drone warfare across Ukraine’s armed forces.
The initiative will improve existing drone units, enhance capabilities, and create a more unified combat strategy for unmanned aerial systems.
