Initial investigations suggest that the driver, also Dutch, was traveling at an excessive speed on Kennedydamm when he lost control of the vehicle. The car collided with traffic light poles and guardrails, ultimately being torn apart by the impact.

Authorities now believe the crash may have been triggered by a medical emergency experienced by the driver. Police emphasized that no evidence suggests intentional wrongdoing.

Düsseldorf police are still piecing together the sequence of events leading to the crash. Witness statements and on-site evidence are being analyzed to confirm the exact cause.
