Israel will respond to any harm to its security, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, according to RIA Novosti.

The politician was commenting on threats from Iran to retaliate for a strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

"Iran has been working against us for many years, so Israel has worked against Iran and its emissaries, both defensively and offensively. We will act on a simple principle—we will harm anyone who harms us or plans to do so," he said.

On April 1, the Israeli Air Force launched a strike on a building near the Iranian Embassy in Damascus.

According to a source from the Iranian publication Tasnim, six people were killed in the attack.

Following this, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei addressed Israel in Hebrew, threatening retaliation for the attack.

According to some reports, Iran plans to strike the territory of the Jewish state within the next 48 hours.
