A serene family picnic at Chipinque Park in San Pedro Garza Garcias, Mexico, took an unexpected turn when a young black bear decided to join the feast. Silvia Macias, her son Santiago, and their friends were enjoying a meal when the unanticipated guest made its appearance.
The bear, seemingly hungry, hopped onto the table and began helping itself to the food without waiting for an invitation. The group was initially frozen in surprise.
In a video shared on TikTok, which captured the unusual encounter, Macias can be seen embracing her son, pressing his face to her shoulder in an attempt to shield him from the bear. Remarkably, she, Santiago, and the others present managed to maintain complete calm throughout the incident.
This collective composure seemingly played a crucial role in ensuring that the group walked away from the encounter unscathed. Any signs of panic or sudden movements might have provoked the bear, potentially leading to a dangerous escalation.
The bear seemed to enjoy the treats brought by the family and their friends. According to Macias, Santiago has been unable to watch the video of the incident, finding the entire situation too frightening to revisit.
