BMW is marking its 30th anniversary in Mexico by launching an exclusive M2 model: the BMW M2 Coupe 30 Years Edition.
Only 30 Units
Limited to only 30 units, this special edition will come in two unique matte finishes and with one transmission option — a six-speed manual.
The M2 Coupe 30 Years Edition is available in either Frozen Portimao Blue metallic or Frozen Pure Grey metallic. Inside, each car features adjustable sports seats upholstered in red and black Merino leather, along with carbon fiber accents and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, according to Boosted.
Like the standard 2025 M2 model, this special edition packs the updated 3.0-liter inline-six engine with twin turbos, now boosted to deliver 475 horsepower—20 more than the previous version. It also includes new BMW emblems, an updated steering wheel, and the latest BMW iDrive system.
Produced in Mexico City
Although it’s unclear whether the new silver alloy wheels debuting on the 2025 model will be offered with the anniversary edition, initial images from BMW suggest it may be unlikely.
Each of the 30 units will be produced at BMW’s San Luis Potosi plant near Toluca, just west of Mexico City. BMW first established production in Mexico in 1994 with the E36 generation of the 3 Series, and this commemorative M2 will be exclusive to the Mexican market.
Priced at 2,149,900 Mexican pesos (around $123,000 USD), the anniversary edition costs roughly 400,000 pesos more than the standard M2 in Mexico.
While BMW has not disclosed whether all 30 units have been sold, the brand has a history of celebrating milestones with limited-edition releases, including the M5’s 30th-anniversary edition in 2014.
