A rare 1970 ARO M461 model has been listed for sale in Romania, marking one of the highest prices ever for a vehicle produced by the renowned Câmpulung Muscel factory.
Rare and Well-Preserved
Priced at €13,500, this classic model stands out not only due to its rarity but also because of its well-preserved condition and historical value, according to Ziare.
The ARO M461, classified as a historic vehicle, has been put up for sale by a collector in Brașov County.
This particular model, with only 8,500 kilometers on the odometer, remains in excellent working condition. It features its original parts and a 2,512 cubic centimeter engine producing 70 horsepower.
The only needed modification is the restoration of the vehicle’s cover, which is the sole component requiring attention.
Imported to US and Canada
The ARO factory, which began producing vehicles in 1957, manufactured around 380,000 cars before ceasing operations in 2006.
The ARO M461, first introduced in 1970, was known for its affordability and gained significant popularity both in Romania and abroad. Among the countries with substantial ARO imports were the United States and Canada.
ARO’s models were celebrated for their robustness and practicality, qualities that have contributed to their enduring appeal among collectors.
