Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey recently marked their 18th wedding anniversary by recreating their wedding photos.
The "Oppenheimer" star shared a heartwarming picture of the couple holding a bouquet of daisies, captioning it, "18 years, love still in bloom!!"
The post garnered widespread admiration, with fans commenting on the couple's enduring loyalty to each other. Even Jeremy Renner, Downey Jr.'s Avengers co-star, left a heartfelt message for the couple, saying,
"These are the best photos Robert! Love you both!!!"
The Downeys first crossed paths on the set of the 2003 film "Gothika," where Robert was acting alongside Halle Berry, and Susan was a producer.
Initially hesitant about dating a colleague, Susan eventually warmed up to Robert, who would bring his own oatmeal packets for lunch and perform yoga moves on set.
The couple got engaged within a few months of dating and tied the knot in August 2005 in a Jewish ceremony in Amagansett, New York.
They have two children and have also founded their own production company, Team Downey, which has produced films like "The Judge," "Dolittle," and "Sherlock Holmes 3."
When asked about the secret to their long-lasting marriage, Susan told Extra TV, "I think you just have to enjoy each other... it's fun when you're happy with each other, so you get over the bumps quickly."
