Tensions between world leaders have once again put Ukraine at the center of global discussions.
After a heated exchange between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump, European leaders reacted quickly.
Many voiced their support for Ukraine, emphasizing their commitment to standing against Russian aggression.
French President Emmanuel Macron did not hesitate to share his thoughts. "Russia is the aggressor and Ukraine is the victim," he stated.
"We were right to help Ukraine and sanction Russia three years ago. We must continue to do so." Macron made these comments while speaking to reporters in Portugal, reports Hotnews.
He also stressed the importance of respecting those who have been fighting since the start of the war.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was one of the first to respond. He sent a clear message to Ukraine through social media, writing, "Dear Zelensky, dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone."
His words were a direct show of solidarity, reinforcing Poland’s ongoing support for its eastern neighbor.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez also made his position clear. "Ukraine, Spain stands with you," he stated.
His comments reflected Spain’s continued commitment to Ukraine, showing that support from European nations remains strong.
German politician Johann Wadephul, deputy leader of the CDU, had a more direct and emotional reaction.
"The scenes in the White House are shocking," he said. "How can you stab the president of an invaded country in the back like this? A free Europe will not betray Ukraine!"
His words captured the frustration many European officials felt after watching the tense meeting between Trump and Zelensky.
Elon Musk also weighed in on the situation. He kept his message short but powerful, writing on social media, "President @realDonaldTrump is the Commander in Chief."
His comment signaled his acknowledgment of Trump’s authority but left room for interpretation regarding his stance on the issue.
Meanwhile, U.S. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy strongly criticized the meeting. Calling the scene "an absolute disgrace to America," he shared a video clip where Trump dodged a direct question about Russia violating a ceasefire.
Instead of answering seriously, Trump replied sarcastically, "What if a bomb dropped on your head right now?"
The political fallout from the confrontation continues to spread. European leaders have reaffirmed their support for Ukraine, but tensions remain high.
As the war drags on, the world watches closely, waiting to see what comes next.
