Luck and the Prime Minister title in Denmark are not exactly aligned these days. Friday, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was subjected to an assault, while her predecessor, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, has been involved in an accident today.

Former Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen found himself in a harrowing situation on Sunday, when a boat trip in Copenhagen's harbor took a dangerous turn.

Accident on the Water

Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who currently serves as Denmark’s Foreign Minister, shared the details of the incident on Facebook.

He explained that he was enjoying a boat ride with his daughter, Lisa, and some staff members from the Moderate Party when the accident occurred.

"Unfortunately, we encountered trouble when the boat got stuck under a bridge due to the elevated water level. As we tried to free the boat, Lisa got her head trapped between the bridge and the boat, and I injured my hand trying to prevent further harm," Løkke wrote.

A Close Call for Lisa

The tense moment led to immediate medical concerns, particularly for Lisa, who was taken to Rigshospitalet for a thorough check-up.

"Thankfully, she appears to be okay, though she has significant swelling and abrasions. I ended up with a swollen hand," Løkke added, conveying his relief that the injuries were not more severe.

Despite the scare, both Løkke and his daughter are recovering.

As previously mentioned, the accident occurred just two days after Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was assaulted by a 49-year-old drunk Polish man. You can read more about it here.
