Toymaker Mattel has issued an apology after mistakenly printing the address of an adult website on boxes for its new "Wicked" dolls.

Wrong Website

The dolls, inspired by the upcoming film adaptation of the "Wicked" musical based on The Wizard of Oz, were meant to include the official movie website, www.wickedmovie.com, on the packaging, according to Hotnews.

However, an error resulted in the link being printed as wicked.com, which redirects to an adult content site.

"Wicked," starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, explores the story of the two witches Dorothy encounters in Oz and is set for release in North American and Romanian theaters on November 22.

Ahead of the premiere, Mattel launched dolls modeled after the main characters, played by Grande and Erivo, in time to align with the movie’s release.

Not Suitable for Children

After the packaging error was discovered, Mattel responded swiftly, acknowledging the mistake in a statement to Variety and other media outlets.

The company expressed regret over the error and stated it was taking immediate steps to correct the situation.

"Mattel regrets this unfortunate oversight and is working quickly to rectify the situation," the statement read. "We advise parents that the incorrect website link is not suitable for children."

Consumers who have already purchased the product are encouraged to dispose of the packaging or cover the link. Customer Service is available for any additional information."

The mix-up comes as anticipation builds for the film, with Ariana Grande sharing recently that her experience on set was so profound, she made a decision that might "shock her fans."
