A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told CBS that there were no injuries found on the popular actor’s body.
Similarly, multiple outlets report that the police do not suspect that a crime has occurred.
Last year, Matthew Perry released the autobiography 'Friends, Lovers and The Big Terrible Thing', in which he discussed the long-term substance abuse that several times nearly cost him his life.
He also mentioned that he had been sober for 18 months at that time.
In the American media, it is reported that no illegal substances were found in Matthew Perry's home.
Although it is expected to take several weeks before a final cause of death can be determined, his body has been released to the family.
