Following recent elections, Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a warning, suggesting that any conflict between Russia and NATO could bring the world to the brink of World War III. This statement was reported by European Truth, referencing Russia's Interfax news agency.
In response to inquiries about the possibility of a full-scale conflict between Russia and NATO, Putin stated, "I think that everything is possible in today's world."
At the same time, the Russian dictator said "that hardly anyone is interested in this".
"It is clear to everyone that this will be one step away from full-scale World War III," Putin further elaborated.
Recent developments have seen Putin securing what the Central Committee of the Russian Federation describes as a record victory in the presidential "elections." During his victory speech, Putin committed to addressing the ongoing conflict with Ukraine and to bolstering the Russian armed forces during his new term.
Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kallas has commented on Putin's tactics, suggesting that the Russian leader aims to intimidate Western societies to limit their actions.
Yet, Kallas believes that Putin himself is afraid of engaging in war with NATO.
