Ukrainian officials reported a Russian drone flying dangerously close to the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant

Trending Now

A Russian attack drone was detected flying at an alarmingly low altitude near the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant on the night of September 25, according to a report from Energoatom, Ukraine’s national nuclear energy company.

The drone's proximity to the plant raised serious concerns about nuclear safety.

"Once again, Russian forces are endangering the nuclear safety of Ukraine's power plants," Energoatom wrote in a statement published on Telegram.

The company emphasized that nuclear and radiation safety standards must not be compromised under any circumstances.

Rising Tensions Over Nuclear Security

This incident comes just a day after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia is preparing to target three Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

Zelenskyy claimed that Kyiv has concrete evidence to support these assertions. He also voiced concerns about Russia's use of Chinese satellites to gather intelligence on Ukrainian nuclear sites.

The Rivne Nuclear Power Plant is one of Ukraine’s key nuclear facilities, and any disruption or attack on such sites could have severe consequences for both Ukraine and surrounding regions.
