Russian military forces have intensified their offensive in the Kherson region, shelling 15 settlements over the last 24 hours.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the regional military administration, confirmed these attacks on his Telegram channel.
Scope of the Attacks
The attacks spanned across various parts of Kherson including notable areas like Antonivka, Inzhenerne, and Veletenske. Other affected locations include Bilousove, Lviv, Tyaginka, Mykilske, Odradokamyanka, Kizomys, Dniprovske, Yantarne, Bilozerka, Vesele, and Kozatske.
The deliberate targeting of residential areas resulted in substantial damage to private properties, with nine houses reported as significantly damaged.
Damages and Drone Interception
In addition to the residential damages, critical infrastructure facilities have not been spared. Reports indicate that a post office, a warehouse, and a vehicle were also hit in these assaults.
Despite the severe circumstances, Ukrainian air defense systems were actively engaged, intercepting and destroying two enemy Shahed-131/136 type kamikaze drones during a nocturnal drone attack.
This spike in attacks on the Kherson region is part of a broader escalation of hostilities across Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, over the same period, Russia executed 16 missile strikes, 31 air strikes, and 79 attacks using rocket salvo systems against both military positions and civilian areas throughout Ukraine.
