A clandestine Ukraine-NATO meeting took place in Dresden, Germany, from August 27 to 29.

Senior military officials from 35 nations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, gathered to discuss strategic military support for Ukraine as the conflict with Russia continues. The secretive event was reported by the German newspaper BILD and confirmed by an informed source.

Among the attendees were top military leaders, including Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

"We see in the Ukrainian conflict that the use of drones in particular has taken a huge leap forward; drones are now omnipresent on the battlefield. That is why we all have to counter this new threat from the air," said German Army Inspector General Lieutenant General Alfons Mais during the meeting.

During the conference, attendees were shown the latest German military technologies designed to combat drone threats.

Among the showcased equipment were the Skyranger wheeled air defense system, capable of neutralizing drones at distances of up to nine kilometers, and the RCH-155 unmanned wheeled howitzer, which has a firing range of 54 kilometers and can fire up to nine rounds per minute.

Ukraine is set to receive over 50 of these advanced howitzers in 2025.

This secret meeting followed an official Ukraine-NATO conference held on August 28, in response to a massive Russian missile strike on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure on August 26. After these discussions, NATO pledged to increase military support for Ukraine.
