Apple has just announced a major software update set to launch in December.

The update will introduce new features and enhance the recently released iOS 18.

The focus is mainly on the further development of Apple Intelligence, but users in Europe can also expect additional changes.

Apple Intelligence Gets New Features

With iOS 18.2, Apple is expanding its AI-based functions.

Among the highlights are Image Playground, an app for generating images via artificial intelligence, and Genmoji, which creates personalized emojis using AI.

Additionally, Siri will gain ChatGPT integration, allowing it to handle more complex queries.

Several of these features are not yet available in the EU due to regulatory challenges.

That said, Apple expects to add support for more English dialects from countries such as Australia, Canada, and the UK, according to Giga.

More Apple Apps Can Now Be Uninstalled

In iOS 18.2, European users will have the option to delete more of Apple’s pre-installed apps that were previously mandatory.

It will now be possible to remove apps like Safari, Photos, and the App Store.

However, the Phone and Settings apps will remain, and cannot be deleted.

iOS 18.2 is expected to roll out before the end of the year, alongside updates for iPadOS and macOS.

While paid developers can already test a beta version of iOS 18.2, the final version will be available to all users in December.

Apple is also working on iOS 18.3, which, as per tradition, will likely be announced shortly after, with an expected release in early 2025.
