At a recent press event for 'Dune 2' during Comic-Con in São Paulo, actress Florence Pugh experienced an unpleasant incident.
According to reports, including one by Deadline, Pugh was hit in the head by an unspecified object thrown from the audience while she was on stage with her fellow cast members.
This concerning event reflects a growing and disturbing trend seen at concerts where audience members throw items like microphones, chicken nuggets, and shot tubes at performers. Now, it seems this behavior has extended to the film industry.
During the panel for 'Dune: Part 2', Florence Pugh was alongside notable co-stars Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, Zendaya, and the film's director Denis Villeneuve. A video from the event captures the moment Pugh was struck by the object.
Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, who played Paul Atreides and Chani in the first 'Dune' film, were joined by newcomers Florence Pugh and Austin Butler in the sequel, portraying Princess Irulan and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, respectively.
'Dune: Part 2' was initially slated for release in November this year but was postponed to March 2024 due to the Hollywood actors' strike. However, the premiere date has now been moved forward to February 28th in Denmark.
