Croatia is set to deliver its eleventh military aid package to Ukraine, as announced by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković during his visit to Kyiv. Plenković met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss humanitarian demining, postwar recovery, and rebuilding energy facilities in Ukraine.
“We always count on your support, particularly in political matters, including our path to the European Union and NATO,” Zelenskyy stated during the meeting.
This is Plenković's first visit during his third term as prime minister but one of many trips to Ukraine over the past eight years, including his third since the full-scale invasion began.
With this latest package, Croatia has provided a total of €300 million in aid to Ukraine.
Previous assistance included 14 Mi-8 helicopters, 15 M-46 130 mm cannons, and several Rak gun-mortars. Croatia has also delivered 40 D-30 122 mm howitzers, anti-tank missiles, and over 40,000 assault rifles, including Zastava M70 and FN FAL models.
For Ukraine’s air defense, Croatia supplied Igla and Strela-2 MANPADS. Additionally, helmets, body armor, and other ammunition from Croatian stockpiles have been provided. Croatia has also contributed funds for 155 mm shells through the European Defence Fund.
As part of the aid, Croatia will transfer at least one An-32B transport aircraft to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
