A Russian airstrike on Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast on September 25 injured three members of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society who were on a humanitarian mission, the organization reported.

The attack targeted the city center with two guided bombs, severely damaging residential buildings, shops, and cars.

Local authorities confirmed that two people were killed and 19 injured, including children.

Among the wounded were a Red Cross volunteer, who was hospitalized, along with the head of the Kramatorsk city Red Cross and their driver, who both sustained injuries while in a vehicle.

"The Ukrainian Red Cross continues its mission to provide assistance to the civilian population despite the danger," the organization said in a statement on Facebook.

Ongoing Attacks in Donetsk Oblast

This is not the first time humanitarian workers have been targeted.

In mid-September, Russian forces attacked Viroliubivka, a village near Kostiantynivka, killing three employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross and injuring two others.

Kramatorsk, a city frequently targeted by Russian strikes, has suffered numerous deadly attacks.

On August 24, an attack on the Safir (Sapphire) Hotel killed British national Ryan Evans, a security adviser for Reuters, and severely injured camera operator Ivan Lubysh-Kirdey.
