A missile attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on January 17 has left four people dead and at least three others critically injured, according to Governor Serhii Lysak on Telegram.
The strike caused large-scale damage to an educational institution and a residential building, with local authorities working to assess the full extent of the destruction and casualties.
Among the injured are a 22-year-old woman and two men, aged 34 and 56, all in critical condition.
Governor Lysak urged residents to remain in shelters as air alerts continue in the region, following earlier warnings from the Ukrainian Air Force about a high-speed ballistic threat detected heading toward the city.
Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has been a frequent target of Russian missile strikes since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
With a population of approximately 660,000, it is the second-largest city in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and lies just 70 kilometers (40 miles) northwest of the nearest front-line zone.
