Are you traveling to Greece this summer and looking for a unique experience?

The Acropolis in Athens is now offering private tours outside of its usual opening hours for 5,000 euros per visit, approximately 5,360 US dollars.

For travelers with extra money to spare, the "Acropolis Experience" provides an exclusive opportunity to explore the historic site privately, according to Hellenic Heritage, the organization behind the tours.

The private tours are available for groups of up to five participants per booking.

Up to four such tours can take place simultaneously, with available times starting at 7 a.m. or 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Starting July 12, visitors can book these exclusive tours without a guide, and from August 2, guided tours in multiple languages will be available.

A Surge in Tourism

The goal of this offer is to allow visitors to enjoy the Acropolis without the typical crowds.

The Acropolis is Greece's most visited tourist attraction, with standard tickets costing between 20 and 30 euros.

In 2023, the site saw a record nearly four million visitors, a 31 percent increase from the previous year.

This surge in visitors is partly due to the many cruise ships docking at the nearby port of Piraeus. To manage the large crowds, time slot tickets have also been introduced.
