Japanese automaker Honda has issued a recall for nearly 780,000 vehicles in North America due to a potential fire hazard caused by faulty high-pressure fuel pumps.
According to Reuters, the defect could cause the fuel pump to crack and leak fuel near the fuel line, leading to a serious fire risk.
The recall includes several popular Honda models, such as the Accord, CR-V Hybrid, and Civic from the 2023 to 2025 model years.
In total, 720,000 vehicles are being recalled in the United States, with an additional 61,000 in Canada.
So far, 145 Honda owners have reported the issue to authorities, although no injuries or accidents have been linked to the defect.
Honda emphasized that this recall is a precautionary measure to avoid any future incidents.
Next Steps for Vehicle Owners
Honda will contact affected car owners, instructing them to visit authorized workshops for a free inspection and replacement of the faulty fuel pump if needed.
The company has assured customers that the replacement process will be carried out at no cost.
This is not Honda's first recall related to fuel pump issues.
In December 2023, the automaker recalled 2.3 million cars for a similar problem, raising concerns about the availability of spare parts for such a large-scale recall.
