Tesla has been promising a new Roadster for years, but nothing has materialized. Growing impatient, David Andreyev decided to take matters into his own hands.
The American YouTuber has completed an ambitious conversion of a Tesla Model 3, creating his own version of the long-awaited sports car. Starting with a damaged 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance, Andreyev spent two years transforming it into a modern interpretation of the Tesla Roadster.
The entire process is documented in a series of videos on his YouTube channel, Cyber Hooligan.
Andreyev’s renovation was extensive.
Notably, the car was converted into a sleek coupe with a significantly lower roofline than the original Model 3. The finished vehicle measures an impressive 2.08 meters in width and boasts a striking Candy Apple Red paint job.
Powered by the Model 3 Performance's electric drivetrain, the custom Roadster delivers sports car-level performance, with over 500 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. Andreyev salvaged the Model 3’s powertrain despite its retirement in 2018.
The project has already gained widespread attention, with Andreyev sharing reactions from the car’s first test drive.
According to Boosted, Andreyev already has new ideas on the drawing board. His next project? Transforming a Tesla Model S Plaid into another custom sports car—this time, packing over 1,000 horsepower.
