A violent confrontation reportedly broke out in a shared accommodation for asylum seekers in Potsdam, Germany, resulting in the death of a security guard.
Initial reports from Die Presse indicated that the guard had been seriously injured at the asylum seekers' shelter on Geschwister-Scholl-Straße.
The situation remains unclear.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the perpetrator is currently at large. A police operation has been underway since 4:30 a.m. (local time).
Authorities have assured the public that there is no danger to the neighborhood.
